The Tarot Secrets of the Gypsy Cards
artist unidentified (1955)
A fresh to the market and rare surviving pulp cover illustration. This was created for the February 1955, Volume #8, issue #2 issue [sic] of Fate Magazine: True Stories Of The Strange And The Unknown. This work was likely done by Merlin Enabnit the illustrator and pin-up artist who did a few covers for this title; illustrates a scene from a story by Irys Vorel titled The Tarot, Secrets of the Gypsy Cards. A compelling work that combines the artist’s pin-up sensibilities with highly marketable other-wordly, mysterious, fantasy larger than life imagery. Sale includes a complete copy of the published work.
